Last year’s French Trip was a roaring success with children relishing all the challenges associated with being immersed in a foreign culture.  Pupils also reported that forming new friendship with their Reydon counterparts had really helped them feel less apprehensive about moving to their new school because it had helped them improve their social skills as well as increased their chances of being among familiar faces in September.

In the light of the above, Mme Godet, Mr Moore and Mrs Viner - who is the Headteacher at Reydon Primary - are very keen to offer the opportunity to all our current Year 6 children to take part in a French residential trip to Boulogne s/mer from Tuesday 27th June to Friday 30th July 2017

The aim is to promote cultural awareness as well as provide the opportunity for pupils to gain first-hand experience of a foreign language and culture.

This sojourn to France fits in well with the New Primary Curriculum and will enable our children to:

  • get acquainted with a foreign culture
  • better understand the similarities and differences between the daily life of a French and a British person
  • use their language skills in a real context
  • tackle new challenges
  • develop social skills
  • become a more self-reliant and independent person

The Y6 cohort – and the accompanying adults - is expected to leave Grove Primary at 5.45am on Tuesday 27th June 2017 to make its way to France by coach and ferry.  The party will stay at the Hôtel Peupleraie in the charming rural village of Nampont St Martin (
