Even Better If
|
- Behaviour is handled well my teachers
- It’s not the teachers fault, its sometimes the child’s fault because they chose to do really silly things
- Children who do bad choices are always spoken to but sometimes the children don’t seem to care
- Teachers stop people from being silly,
- The teachers use the behaviour chart
- Lots of people are very good and are on green. If they make a bad choice they go to red and don’t make a fuss.
|
- There are a few children (always the same ones) that distract us or are silly, rude unkind.
- I can name the children who cause people to be scared or hurt others
- Certain children stop us learning and the teachers do things about it but it disturbs us.

The outcomes of the survey and the workshops were shared with the School Council who considered ways that the issues raised could be addressed. As a result the following happened:-
I feel safe in school and on the playground
It was noted that the playground during the winter months is exceptionally busy and the children do not like being out for long periods of time in the cold. This was addressed in two ways:-
- A range of lunchtime activities (sports club, science club, debating club) were added in addition to the current activities running at lunch time, These included Drawing Club and Story Making Club which now take place every lunchtime.
- A review of deployment of staff working at lunchtime and zoning of the playground. In addition, a meeting/training session with the staff took place to ensure all staff working at lunch times are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities.
Behaviour is good
- The results of the survey and workshops were shared with the individual children who had been named and their parents and expectations of behaviour in lessons and at lunchtimes were reinforced.
- Further staff training on expectations and strategies for managing pupil behaviour was provided to support staff and teachers,
I enjoy school/lessons are fun and interesting
- Further work with staff to promote the development of the curriculum with our children.
Adults are interested in what I have to say.
- Part of our staff training in January for both teachers and staff focused on our curriculum off to children which focuses on the importance of nurture.. Hearing children's voice and giving them time to speak and explain was explored.
