The children made their own drums. They explored how to make the sounds louder and quieter. They clapped out some rhythms and then had a go at playing the rhythms on their drums. The songs this week were from Moana, We Know The Way and You're Welcome. The children followed the beats and learnt when to rest.
The children were given a challenge to create an instrument that could make 2 different sounds. The children enjoyed this task and some made instruments that could make 3,4,5 and even 6 sounds by using different beaters, textures and techniques to make noises! We had shaking, tapping, using beaters, elastic band pinging and corrugated edges sliding sounds.
Snape Maltings Performance
Our school Rock Choir had an opportunity to perform at Snape Maltings . We joined up with Westwood's Rock Choir to create one super singing group.
The school's Music Leaders worked together in order to have a Dress Like a Rockstar Day which raised funds for the coach to get us there.
The children sang Hallelujah, Cheap Thrills and Fight Song.
