We went to Pakefield beach with our families for our summer trip and share afternoon. The sun shone, ( for most of the day) and we had a wonderful, but busy day! We played rounders, team games and paddled. Everyone displayed the Golden behaviours for learning, especially during the team games and sand castle building competition. Our wonderful parents were with us to enjoy the day! Thank you for your support- great COLLABORATION!
We have had some fabulous homework this half term . Well one!
This week we have been reading about the journey of the 'Naughty Bus.' He drove through some baked beans!
We observed the changes of bread as it is toasted and then ate beans on toast. Yummy!
We created a narrative of a journey we would make with our own bus if we had one.
Most children now have hats at school. Please ensure your child has one in school each day.
This week we have tried some different foods to keep us healthy. We tried different types of bread and lots of vegetables.
We had milk to drink to keep our bones strong.
We had a wonderful time with the parents! The children shared the learning they had been doing throughout the week and our main focus was 'Outdoor Learning'.
We visited Ringsfield Hall to extend our theme of Growth. We had and fantastic day!
We met a very hungry caterpillar. We had to explore the woods and find things for him to eat.
We even found some leaves that we could eat - but we always have to ask an adult first!
Have a look at our wonderful pictures.
This half term we shall be exploring the topic of 'Growth'. We shall be looking at 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle and this will support our educational visit to Ringsfield Hall on Thursday 30th April 2015. After a wonderful art day we have created our own 3D version of the 'Hungry Caterpillar' which is displayed in the Early Years activity area. We will then be exploring the life cycles of other creatures and plants and investigating how we can help them to grow.
After reading 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson, we searched for resources in the woods and made our own brooms. We then used them to support role play.
We held our half termly share sessions when we explored measuring, counting, adding, subtracting and we even measured a crocodile!
We have been learning through the story of 'The Gruffalo' this week. Some of the activities we have been doing include retelling the story through drama, making Gruffalo crumble and learning about ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd .....).
We have also worked really hard on our new role play area by creating the scene and characters from the story.
This week we have been making ladybirds from clay. Have a look in the atrium for a wonderful display.
We have also used the Bee bots to travel across the farmyard as in the book 'What the Ladybird heard.'
With Mr Websdale we have been practising our dance skills which we have all enjoyed
We also made pancakes and tried lots of yummy toppings.
We have had an exciting afternoon visiting the South Lowestoft Fire station and meeting the firefighters who are real life superheroes. Mrs Ellis and Miss Rouse had to dress up as firefighters.
We were able to go in a fire engine and use a very powerful hose!
The children had a wonderful time and were beautifully behaved. Well done!
The share afternoons will take place on Tuesday 10th February and Wednesday 11th February from 2pm until 3pm. Please see the groups on the outdoor whiteboard for your child's day.
Welcome back to school! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

The children have come into school ready to learn and we are very eager to see all of their Hero and Heroine creations that they have worked hard on over the Christmas break.
As part of Share Day we explored the theme of Christmas. It was wonderful to see so many parents attending and sharing learning with their children.
and finally..... we are really looking forward to Christmas!
We have been practising our Christmas production, including the wonderful songs and we are really looking forward to performing it.
